The sterling silver charm is engraved on its surface with the pattern of your loved one’s fingerprint, using a section of the print to show its own swirls and lines. Our designers work with that section to capture the detail in every print and create a high-quality finish.
A name and date can be added to the reverse of the fingerprint charm. It comes complete with an 18-inch sterling silver belcher chain. The charm measures 18 mm across and is 1 mm thick. Sterling silver is available as the material choice, with further material, chain-style and optional stone-embedding selections available.
Fingerprint guidance
Children develop fingerprints at different ages, so fingerprint jewellery is recommended for children over 12 months, older children and adults. For children under 12 months, our Handprint or Footprint designs are recommended instead.
How to make a fingerprint
- Check that all fingers are clean and dry.
- Using a pencil, scribble a square patch on white paper, going over the same area again and again.
- Rub the finger over the pencil mark to make a dark mark on the finger.
- Place the sticky side of sticky tape on the fingerprint, then gently pull the tape away.
- Stick the tape onto a white piece of paper.
- Check that you are happy with the visible print detail beneath the tape.
Daily tip: Before buying a diamond, it is important to check whether it is real. You do not want to be stuck with fake jewellery. A real diamond’s reflection appears grey; a rainbow-coloured reflection can indicate a low-quality or fake diamond.
